Oprah Winfrey has made some comments regarding the possibility of a run for President of the United States in 2020.
Ever since Donald Trump’s election, it seems that some celebrities believe that they should run, such as Kanye West who claimed that he would run in 2020 for President. The victory for President Donald Trump in 2016 has changed the perception of the requirements vaguely determined by the people of the United States.
Hillary Clinton losing the election in 2016, has had many displaced and now go to finding massively approved and likeable celebrities or politicians that could run in 2020 for President.
The new member to add to that list is Oprah Winfrey, who is 63 years old has not ruled out a Presidential run, although stating that the chance is quite low. She stated on “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations” “I never considered the question even a possibility. I just thought, ‘Oh.’ I thought, ‘Oh, gee, I don’t have the experience. I don’t know enough.’ And now I’m thinking, ‘Oh.’”
While Oprah may not want to run for President because she doesn’t think that she meets the requirements, many people are already on board with the campaign run, with Michael Moore who said that he would like to see Tom Hanks or Oprah Winfrey run for President in 2020.
While it may seem like an off hand chance, Oprah has stated on Stephen Colbert’s show: “Never! No, it’s not my thing.” But, hey, you never know.” Signaling that there is still a chance that she may actually run a campaign for President of the United States in 2020.
Although it is unlikely that Oprah Winfrey will run for President in 2020, there still seems to be a lingering chance, and maybe if the support from her supporters is strong enough, she will decide to run for President.
